How to make a Keto Breakfast Sandwich
The bread
I like to use a 90 Second Keto Bread for my breakfast sandwiches, but you can use any other keto bread if you prefer. To make the 90 Second Keto Bread, combine all of the bread ingredients, except the butter, in a 4.5″ microwave safe dish. Whisk until fully combined and then microwave for 90 seconds. Heat a skillet on medium high heat.
Allow the dish to rest until it is cool enough to handle, then pop the bread from the dish. Slice it in half, horizontally, to create two thinner slices of bread. Add the butter to the hot skillet and then place the bread into the hot butter and fry until both sides are golden and crisp.
The sandwich
Heat a skillet and fry your meat of choice. Fry the bacon until crispy, the sausage until cooked through or sear the ham for a couple of minutes. Crack an egg into the skillet a few minutes before the meat is done, and fry until the desired doneness has been reached.
Spread your sauce of choice over the bread slices, add sliced cheddar cheese, your meat of choice and the cooked egg. Sandwich it all together and enjoy!
Expert Tips
- Be sure the bread mixture is whisked enough so that the egg is fully combined with the other ingredients.
- If the bread is not fully cooked after being microwaved for 90 seconds, cook for an additional 10 seconds.
- If you have a large enough skillet, the bread, meat and egg can all be cooked in the same one to save dishes!

Hey Teresa! I am so glad you loved it so much! Breakfast is my favourite way to start the day, and nothing beats a big ol’ breakfast sandwich!
This was an amazing and filling breakfast! I do have a question about it though.. can you multiply the recipe for the bread and freeze the extras as like an easy meal prep?
This looks amazing and is perfect for my busy lifestyle! Can’t wait to try it tomorrow. I have one question:
For the 90 sec Keto Bread, how would be the prep in a mini oven?
Thank you!
That is a great question. I have not used a mini oven before so I am not sure how long it would take to bake. But in a standard size oven at 350 it would take 15 minutes to bake.
Do you need to butter the container before adding the mixture? Thank you
I wish I could make this, but I don’t use a microwave.
Can I make the bread another way?
You bet! You can bake the bread in an oven safe glass dish at 350 for about 15 minutes until it is fully cooked 🙂
You said the bread could made in a skillet along with the egg & choice of meat. How would the bread be made in the skillet?
What I meant was that the bread can be fried using the same skillet as the egg and meat, if you have a large enough one, when the bread is ready to be fried. It first needs to be cooked in the microwave or oven, then pulled from the dish.
If you happen to have 2 large circular cookie cutters, you could try placing those in the skillet and diving the batter between the two. I bet that would get you the cooked bread slices alongside the egg and meat 🙂
This was so delish! But my eyes bugged at the calories. Lol. Didn’t stop me from enjoying every bite!
Hahahaha yes it has very high calories, but is great for keeping you full throughout the day!
Girrrrrrl! This sandwich is amazing!!!! It’s recipes like this that convince me that I am not being deprived and I can do keto for life! Thankfully I’m eating breakfast at 11:30 so these calories are for breakfast and lunch! Good job!
Hey Val! I’m so pumped you liked it so much, I feel the exact same way about it as you!
This is the best recipe ever! Thank you so much for sharing!
Awe I’m so glad you liked it Lindsay!
I can’t find a 4.5 dish. Any suggestions? I really want to try this.
Hey Joan! Do you have a square dish? You could make it like a square sandwich, such as in this grilled cheese:
https://mamabearscookbook.com/10-minute-keto-grilled-cheese/
Or you could just find any dish that is close to the 4.5inches, it doesn’t have to be exact, it will just either make your bread thicker or thinner depending on what you can find 🙂
Thank you. I will have to buy a dish. I couldn’t find a 4 1/2 one online but they had 4 inch ones so I think I’ll get that. Thanks for getting back to me. The recipe sounds great.
That will work perfect 🙂
