Sweet, salty and full of flavour, this Keto Trail Mix is super addicting and easy to make for all your crunching needs! With a variety of nuts and and seeds for the full crunch package, this delicious Keto snack will keep you fuelled for hours.
If there’s one thing I can’t get over, no matter how hard I try, is the crave for crunchy, salty snacks. I just love ’em! Especially while on a road trip or just out and about doing busy life stuff. This summer my family and I were on a long road trip directly after we moved out of our house. I didn’t have any time to make my Crunchy Keto Cheese Crackers for the trip, so we were scrambling to find last minute snacks.
We ended up just grabbing some pistachios and jerky. The only jerky I could find that wasn’t loaded with sugar, tasted like dog food. Like actual dried dog biscuits. I couldn’t even eat it! I’ve been working on a few recipes for Keto Jerky that I’ll be publishing soon that taste amazing and nothing like dried dog food!
With our adventure in mind, I also wrote this incredibly delicious Keto Trail Mix that is absolutely perfect for road trips! I won’t be travelling anywhere again without this crunchy, tasty snack. I hope you love it as much as we do!
Why you’ll love it
- With hardly any prep involved, this delicious Keto snack is ready in under an hour including the time it takes to cool!
- Sweet, salty and full of flavour, this Keto Trail Mix is super addicting!
- Make it your own by swapping out the nuts for your own favourites.
- The perfect midday pick-me-up, this Keto Trail Mix is fully loaded with healthy fats to keep you fuelled throughout the day.
Ingredients
Sweetener – My favourite sweetener for this Keto Trail Mix is Lakanto Classic, ground into powdered form. Honestly any sweetener would work fine in this recipe. If you only have granular and don’t have a clean coffee grinder to blitz it into powdered form, use 1 tsp granular instead of the 2 tsp powdered.
Nuts – Here you are able to choose your favourite nuts and seeds to personalize your Keto Trail Mix. I use cashews, macadamia nuts, peanut, almonds (whole and sliced), pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Other great options are: hazelnuts, pecans, brazil nuts, walnuts, pistachios and pine nuts.
How to make Keto Trail Mix
Heat the oven to 300° and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or non stick baking sheets.
Melt butter and pour into a large mixing bowl. Add the worcestershire, sea salt, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne and powdered sweetener, then whisk to fully combine. Add the nuts and seeds to the bowl, leaving out the chocolate chips, and stir until the nuts are fully coated. Spread between the two prepared baking sheets.
Bake in the 300° oven for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool completely, mix in the chocolate chips, then sprinkle coarse sea salt to taste all over the Keto Trail Mix. Store in an air tight container.
Expert Tips
- Be sure to stir the nuts every 10 minutes, otherwise the outer nuts will be ready before the nuts in the center of the baking sheets.
- Your Keto Trail Mix will seem moist for a few hours, until the sweetener eventually dries.
- This Keto Trail Mix should stay fresh for 2-3 weeks if kept in an air tight container.

Exactly! Such a great treat 🙂
I just stired the nuts in the oven for the first 10 mins and sneaked a taste… Delicious without being too salty. My husband is going to love this snack. We have been doing the health version of keto for the last year (no processed food) and he is no longer considered prediabetic and is off his cholesterol and gout medicines. I can’t wait for our next trip as I’ll be able to make this on the road in our 5th wheel RV.
Thank You for a terrific recipe.
So happy to hear that!!!
