Teriyaki Chicken In The Crock-pot

With just a few simple ingredients and hours of cooking, you’ll have a flavorful, hearty meal that the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound chicken breast or thighs boneless, skinless
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger root freshly grated
  • a pinch red pepper flakes Optional
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons cold water Optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Place chicken in the crock pot, and top with soy sauce, honey, and garlic.
  • Sprinkle ginger on top of everything.
  • Add optional red pepper flakes for an extra kick and stir to combine.
  • Cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  • If desired, add the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce (optional).
  • Once reduced, season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with rice and vegetables. Enjoy!
