Keto Chaffles are one of the best things to hit. The very best! I am crazy addicted to these mini savoury waffles. There are so many ways to enjoy them, I can’t wait to share them all with you!

For now, I’m starting with sharing my classic version. Very simple to make and yet perfect for any sandwich or burger. Or just straight up because they are so dang tasty! I hope you loves these Chaffles as much as we do!

Why it works

  1. These Keto Chaffles are made with just a few simple ingredients and come out at just 1.2 g net carbs for per chaffle!
  2. Make them crispy for an extra cheesy crunch or keep them soft for more delicate sandwiches like egg salad.
  3. Fast and easy. Have both Keto Chaffles ready in just 10 minutes!

Ingredients

All ingredients used to make keto chaffles.

How to make Keto Chaffles

Start by heating up a mini waffle maker. Grate the mozzarella and cheddar cheese and then mix them together.

Cutting board with shredded cheese next to a mini waffle maker and whisked egg.

Crack an egg into a bowl and whisk until the egg white is fully combined with the yolk. Whisk in the almond flour, baking powder, onion powder and then the cheese.

First keto chaffle is cooked, next to a dish with the remaining egg mixture.

Spread half inside the hot mini waffle maker, close the lid and cook for 3 minutes. Remove the chaffle and place on paper towel to cool, then repeat for the second chaffle.

Both chaffles are ready, one on a cutting board and the other is in the open waffle maker.

Want a crisp crust?

Only put half of the grated cheese into the egg mixture. Sprinkle some of the remaining cheese on the bottom of the mini waffle maker before the egg mixture, and then sprinkle a little more on top before you close the lid.

Expert Tips

  1. If you don’t have a mini waffle maker, these Keto Chaffles can be made in a regular waffle maker.
  2. These Keto Chaffles make excellent sandwiches for lunch to-go!
  3. Chaffles freeze really well. Make a whole bunch at once, freeze them with wax paper in between and then just pop them in the toaster to reheat when needed!

    Hi
The idea sounds amazing and i really want to try them out but I don’t have a waffle machine, do you think i could also make them in a pan?
Thank you for your amazing recipes

    1. Aleta says:

Hi Svenja, I am not sure if they would cook properly in a pan because they would spread too much, but it’s totally worth a shot! Otherwise you could try cooking them like the 90 Second Keto Bread?

  13. Margie says:

Outstanding!!!! Thank you!!! I cooked in the mini waffle maker then put it in the toast oven just to make it a little crisper. It worked so well. I didn’t miss the bun at all! Thumbs up.

    1. Aleta says:

So glad you loved them so much Margie! I find saving a bit of the grated cheese for both sides of the mini waffle maker, before adding the batter, will produce a crispy chaffle as well 🙂 Mmmm crispy cheese 😛
